Management Controller Investment Accounting

What are you going to do?

As a Management Controller of the Investment Accounting team you will be a member of the Investment Operations department. The team is responsible for all monthly and quarterly closing of financial accounting, analysis & controls regarding NN’s investments, including bonds, loans, funds, equities, derivatives and corporate treasury investments for all Dutch and international business units. Your focus will be on all investment management accounting related activities regarding these investments and business units, where we need to account for and comply to multiple accounting principles e.g. IFRS, Local Gaap (of Business Unit), Tax, Solvency II. 

The team makes sure that all investment reporting complies with the financial and investment management reporting requirements of the internal clients (front office team, stakeholders), internal and external supervisors (i.e. DNB) and audit (KPMG).

In this dynamic environment you act as a management partner in business by being able to analyze results and clearly communicate your view.

Your responsibilities:

• Perform month/ quarter-end financial and management accounting and control activities and high quality analysis and reporting on Investments and IFRS and local results
• Analysing, monitoring on performance and reporting on investments of the business units towards the business units financial departments and investment teams
• Maintain and improve internal control framework and continuous optimization of processes and tools
• Support periodical in- and external audit cycles. Also support in implementing change requests from e.g. the Business Units, accounting policies or the front office
• Support in projects e.g. onboarding new business units, implementing new instruments or implementing new investment programs

What you will bring

• Academic level with focus on Finance, Business Economics
• 0-5 years relevant work experience in a similar environment, preferably with a focus on (investment) accounting and/or financial instruments
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to express and communicate views, both written and verbally
• Proactive and capable to independently take charge of your responsibilities
• Experience with Power BI or similar tools and an interest in technological developments that influence the future of our activities
