The Market Surveillance team of the ABN Amro Clearing bank is looking to recruit a surveillance analyst to join their team, covering the clearing business of its European clients. The role encompasses trade surveillance, transaction monitoring, and sanctioned securities/Controversial Weapons Screening. You will join a team of 5 colleagues in Amsterdam (Zuidas).
Your job
You will be a subject-matter expert in the Market Surveillance team, contributing to more advanced and demanding work of the team. Your focus will be on Post-trade Market Surveillance activities, which includes Trade Surveillance, Transaction Monitoring (AML) and Sanctioned Securities/Controversial Weapons List screening.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Trade surveillance: Handling alerts on T+1 basis, including alert review, investigation, escalation, and reporting, as appropriate. Contribute to the annual review, calibration, alert handling, investigations and escalations
- Transaction Monitoring / AML
- Sanctioned Securities/Controversial Weapons Screening
- Contribute to reporting and improving the existing MI and data analytics
- Assist in supervising and training more junior team members
Your profile
Required:
- At least 3 years of relevant surveillance experience, with focus on Market Abuse detection and Trade Surveillance, OR AML/Sanctions experience
- Experience using surveillance/monitoring software
- University/degree educated
- Fluent in English
- A team player with strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Previous exposure/a good understanding of clearing
- Skilled in Python and SQL
- Experiences in reporting and MI on trade surveillance
- Knowledge/experience of sanctioned securities, controversial weapons, and transaction monitoring/AML, OR knowledge of market abuse regulations and regulators in Europe, in particular in the Netherlands and the UK
